The construction of the refinery with maximum capacity of 3 million tons
In early February, the owners of the Estonia-based company Jukonoil announced its plans to build a refinery in Sillamae.
For this purpose Arabian Light crude oil is delivered to Sillamae by tankers and both marine and land transportation, rail and road transport used for the finished products. The plans of investors include the production of aviation kerosene, gasoline and diesel fuel following European standards.
Consumers are specified in the Protocol of Intentions: enterprises of Estonia, Europe and Russia. A few days ago the owner of the local port – a joint stock company SilPort – signed the first agreement according to which an area in 60 hectares of the port´s land in free trade zone will be allocated to establish the refinery.
